Mary Assaf
Mary Assaf was born in England to an Irish mother and a Lithuanian-Jewish father. After graduating from University, she set out at age 23 to volunteer in the newly-developing African country of Mali. Here, she met and married her entrepreneurial Lebanese husband. An incident in Mali had them flee to England, before emigrating to Canada. Ah……finally…..the land of opportunity ……(???)
